SPEED/AGILITY/CONDITIONING CLASSES

C.O.R.E. - Competing for Optimal Results & Execution          Ages: 15 & Up

Advanced Class: An outdoor & indoor athletic training and conditioning program structured toward improving speed, strength, agility, conditioning and explosiveness. Be prepared to take your game to the next level and surpass all opponents with advanced explosion techniques, speed improvement training, and timing drills with the appropriate intensity and progression to prepare yourself for any sport. USI Instructors will customize each class to the needs of the participants to ensure proper performance gains are met for each individual.


Areas of Training

Speed Training:
  • improving running efficiency and mechanics
  • proper rest and recovery
  • progressive levels of intensity resulting in faster movement and linear speed
Agility Training:
  • improving the ability to change direction and start/stop quickly
  • optimizing base of support and controlling center of gravity for force production
  • learning optimal body positions to react to a stimulus (ball, opponent, etc)
Plyometric/ Explosive Training:
  • utilizing the stretch-shortening cycle of muscles to create powerful movements
  • learning proper mechanics of jumping/landing to improve vertical leap
  • improving the efficiency of creating faster and explosive movements while maintaining body control
Every Core Class begins with a dynamic warm-up consisting of a series of athletic movements and stretches to prepare our athletes for the upcoming workout.

Equipment Used: Cones, Hurdles, Speed Ladders, Medicine Balls, Free Weights

Class Days & Times: M, W, F @ 5pm - 6pm
